Atlan Catalogue raisonné de l’œuvre complet work by Jacques Polieri, published by Gallimard, Paris, 1996, described and reproduced in color on page 298 under Nr. 466
About the paintings Nr. 461 to 480 of the Catalogue Raisonné of the artist, op. cit., Jacques Polieri wrote the following comment in his book at p. 296:
"Here begins the writing of the impossible, "each of my paintings differs from the previous one". Reverse the vertical to the horizontal for different formats.
" I always try to push my limits." The symmetries are multiplied, inversions, impressions, reflections, chiaroscuro, knots organized by whole families, diversify the subject, deposit a thousand combinations, combinatorial to the innumerable quotients, to the infinite index.
Here, particularly and in the series that follows, the shadows of the first planes of detachment in contrasting asymmetries on the colored backgrounds and form the chiaroscuro."
